So, about the Kite Runner, just so you know, I really disliked the book, and I'm not quite sure why, but the writing just bugged me. So I was in no big hurry to see the movie. I'm so glad that Jim rented it, because I watched it this weekend and just loved it, so much more than the book. It cut out some of the over-the-top stuff from the book and really just brought across a great message about friendship. It was also very realistic in it's portrayal of the events leading up to the Taliban taking over in Afghanistan, and the devastating effect that had on the country. I would highly recommend it, I learned so much that I didn't know about the middle east. And the actors who play the young boys do an amazing job. Apparently they all had to be relocated to Dubai, but that's a whole other story, you can read about it

Yay!! I'm so glad we're doing this! Thanks Natalie!! That was quick work. It would have taken me like a month to get my act together. I'm way impressed.
I still have not seen this movie. I read the book, and did enjoy it. But some parts were definitely a little much. I'll have to give the movie a try.
